Partnerships
Organizations may choose to develop a partnership relationship with Gateway Homeless Services. Partnership relationships can take the form of mutually agreed-upon expectations, a covenant, or memorandum of agreement.
Recently, Gateway Homeless Services completed such an agreement with a congregation, Trinity Lutheran Church in Chesterfield.
The covenant between Trinity and Gateway follows:
Covenant
Trinity Lutheran Church-Chesterfield and Gateway Homeless Service enter into this covenant with the goal of deepening our relationships with Christ through service to the residents and staff of Gateway Homeless Services. Integrity and respect are the cornerstones of this covenant.
Trinity Lutheran Church agrees to provide support and care for Gateway's residents and staff through the following volunteer services:
- Prayer
- Prepare and serve one dinner meal per month
- Conduct one children's birthday party and adult bingo games on alternating months
- Prepare and deliver 125 brown bag lunches once a month
- Obtain twelve (12) Pack N' Plays for use on Gateway's premises
- Obtain four (4) infant car seats for use in Gateway's van
- Enlist volunteers to help sort and organize donated items at Gateway's off site warehouse
- Assist with clerical needs such as data entry, mailings, filing, etc
- Assist with building maintenance and repairs, etc. as needed
- Assist with other identified needs as our abilities, spiritual gifts, and time permit
- Purchase a table for ten at HomeLess for the Holidays
Gateway Homeless Services agrees to assist Trinity in accomplishing these services by:
- Ensuring a safe environment in which Trinity's volunteers can serve
- Providing ongoing staff support, guidance, and feedback
- Identifying other service opportunities for Trinity's consideration on an ongoing basis
Trinity and Gateway commit to:
- Upholding one another's vision, mission, and values
- Honesty...speaking the truth in love
- Openness...openly share issues, concerns and joys
- Confidentiality...issues and concerns will not be shared outside this relationship
- Resolve...solving disagreements through healthy, mindful dialogue
- Dependability...following through on commitments made
Communication may occur via email, phone and/or face-to-face on an as needed basis with both parties agreeing to respond within twenty-four hours. Only members of Trinity's Gateway Action Team and/or pastoral staff will initiate Communication with Gateway.
While the anticipated duration of this covenant is three years, it will be reviewed at least annually, or more frequently if desired by one party, and will be altered or reaffirmed. After reasonable conversation, either party may terminate this covenant.
