Our facility is approximately 100 years old and has evolved throughout the years. Once a recreational facility and a home to Polish immigrants, the shelter now offers 110 beds for clients on three floors. There is a food program, a Montessori and various youth programs, a computer room, sewing machines, and laundry facilities. The Someone Cares Mission Program has been operating from the lower level of the shelter since 2006, and continues to provide food and necessary items to the elderly and working poor. The Montessori classroom is located on the third floor, and has been recently renovated thanks to the support of Saint Louis' Cardinals Care. Other classroom supplies are provided through the generous support of donors. The Saint Louis Science Center also offers its Learning Places program to the youth residing in our family shelter for science and mathematics and shares this space.
